Listen up people, this suit is the real deal. It is a real high altitude ‘g’ suit that was worn by SU and MIG pilots (from what I can gather, these pilots were with the Soviet Army) who would often climb to altitudes of 100,000 feet and pull 6 g’s!
For those of you who might not know, G-force refers to the force of gravity on a particular body. Pulling 1 g is nothing because the force of gravity on the earth surface is equal to 1 G or 9.8 meters per second. A sneeze causes around 3.5 G. A roller coaster pulls around 3 G and the extreme one pull around 6 G.
So now that you’re all super informed, here’s some more useful info. These suits are really snug-fitting and feature inflatable tubes for blood pressure equalization and lacing for the tightest fit possible. As I said before, this is the real deal.
The suit comes in an awesome green, snap-closure carry bag with instructions.
Some sizing info: These things are small. Our model is wearing the size medium and is a 5 foot 8 woman weighing about 135lbs. This medium size has also been tested to fit a man of 6 feet tall and 170lbs, but it’s a very tight fit and he can’t stand all the way up straight. We have not put a size small on anybody, but our guess is it would fit a person of about 5 foot 6 or less with a slender build.
Both helmet styles on the model are not for sale and do not come with the flight suit
